SALT FORMATIONS AND RUBBLE ZONES

PROCOR CHEMICALS has a range of products to help support and maintain well control in salt formations and rubble zones by reducing torque and pack-off.

The Challenge

There are several challenges to drilling in salt formations and rubble zones, including bit-balling and pack-off from reactive shale within the salt, wellbore erosion when drilling through the salt formation and/or through shale above or below the salt formation and excessive torque and pack-off caused by salt creep. As such, drilling in salt formation and rubble zones can result in serious well control issues and excessive mud losses.

Our Solutions

PROCOR CHEMICALS has a wide range of products to help support drilling and maintain well control in salt formations and rubble zones by reducing torque, erosion and pack-off.

All products work in water, oil or synthetic based drilling fluids, with the exception HP PRO FALT which fluroesces in offshore testing of OBM. Our solutions include SB SuperCeal, PRO TightCeal, PRO V, PRO NiteT and HP PRO Falt.

SB SuperCeal

SB SuperCeal is a unique blend of lost circulation materials, modified resin along with proprietary agents that can be used in all mud systems for sealing permeable formations.

SB SuperCeal is specifically designed for use in
oil or synthetic based mud systems due to its minimal effects on rheology, electrical stability (ES) and Low Gravity Solids (LGS).

SB SuperCeal is often used to enhance wellbore
stability, reduce fluid loss, prevent loss circulation, minimize
differential pressures and prevent any wall sticking which may occur when drilling depleted zones.

SB SuperCeal is a single sack additive which
provides a micron range from 0- 600 microns which was found to be the optimal range for bridging and sealing most permeable formations without the additions of any other materials.

PRO TightCeal - M

PRO TightCeal is a blend of three fibers of various particle sizes and shapes designed to control seepage and lost circulation.

PRO TightCeal is available in fine, medium and coarse grades to effectively prevent circulation loss.

PRO V+

PRO V+ is an Acid Soluble “Hybrid” LCM/Squeeze product
which can be used as an Aggressive LCM, Squeeze Product or Pre-Cement Spacer product. It is specially blended with loss circulation materials such as fibers, cellophane, resins and shells for ultimate performance and sealing capabilities. PRO V+ can be used in a wide range of applications, temperatures and densities.

PRO V+ is a single sack loss circulation material that can be used for any application, especially for large voids and vugular cavities, fractures and unconsolidated formations.

PRO HG

PRO HG is a high solids, high fluid loss proprietary blend squeeze product designed to plug loss circulation zones with large fractures. PRO HG is easily mixed with conventional rig equipment.

PRO HG will not contaminate existing mud and is neither time nor temperature sensitive.

PRO HG is designed to be used in water and oil based drilling fluids.

PRO HG can be used for both water and oil-based drilling fluids.

PRO HG produces a very thick, tough cake which resists washing away once drilling resumes.

PRO HG contains an expandable polymer that continues to swell after placement in the loss circulation zone to fill all voids. Normal quantities required for fresh water pills are 50-80 ppb.
